About Me

My name is Christopher Mayo and I am currently an associate professor teaching in the Communication Department コミュニケーション学科 at Kōgakkan University (皇學館大学) in Ise City (伊勢市), Japan.

My research on Japan’s medieval period (12th to 16th centuries) has examined war, ritual practices, and the construction of historical memory. I write in this blog about various topics related to my personal and professional interests. You can find some of my older posts into an Evernote shared notebook (no longer updated) at https://www.evernote.com/pub/mayo-christopher/public.
